The
Metal Disc is a classic of textur CDs.
It´s
already in use since the year 2000 by many 2D and 3D graphic artists
and even
webdesigners - and the included textures can still achieve stunning
results.
But
at that time the material files for Cimema 4D by MAXON
were built still using
release 5 of
the popular german application.
There have been some changes since then.
The textures of The Metal Disc, used in more actual program
versions,
can produce
even better looking rendered metal surfaces as it was possible before.
Therefore
there is now an update available for the Cinema 4D edition, and
as a little
thank-you for the many loyal users worldwide the update is
for free.
The
new material presets were made out using C4D R9.603 and are fully
compatible
with
higher versions, the actual R11 included.

Installation
Download the file "Materials_9.603.zip" and unzip
it to a location of your choice on
your hard disk.
You need a password to unzip the file. Find it on your copy of The
Metal Disc.
Go for that to the folder
"Tutorials/english/Materials
& Textures in C4D" and open the file
"tutorial2.pdf"
in the Acrobat Reader.
The first word on page 20 is your password.
For unpacking the preview no password is needed.
The textures coming with your copy of The Metal Disc for C4D you
should also copy
to your hard disk.
Then start Cinema 4D and select in the preferences menu "Texture
Paths".
Specify the path to the Metal Disc Textures on your hard drive.
Without
the textures of The Metal Disc the materials are not useable!
